Q: What does "TMO" stand for?

A: "TMO" officially stands for "Triad Masters Organization", although the organization is typically referred to as just "The TMO." "Triad" signifies the three founding members. This also can be seen in the TMO symbol (See the symbol on the Home Page). There are three circles, a triangle, and there is the roman numeral three inside the smallest circle. "Masters" was added because the original scope of the organization was to master specific skills to broaden the range of members' abilities.

 

Q: Is the TMO a legitimate organization?

A: The TMO is registered with the Internal Revenue Service, and is recognized by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. The TMO was founded in 1997, and currently has 19 members. Additional applications are awaiting approval by the Council.

 

Q: What does the TMO do?

A: The TMO is a nonprofit fraternal organization dedicated to assisting its members by making available a variety of resources comprised of the skills and materials brought to our group by its members.

 

Q: Is the TMO affiliated with any government agency?

A: The TMO is a private club not connected to any Federal, State or Local government agency; However, the organization is always ready to cooperate with any agency dedicated to community betterment. Our members are proud of the communities in which they live, and welcome the opportunity to assist others whenever possible.

 

Q: Where are the TMO Buildings?

A: The TMO Building is located at the corner of Madison Avenue and Second Street in downtown Lebanon, Missouri. The TMO takes up the entire second floor of the building, with a wide variety of private services, including a theater, library, museum, snack bar, and several offices. The TMO also ownes the Missouri Notary Public Office located on the first floor. Brief limited tours of the facility are available by appointment only.

A: Another office has been opened in Reading, Pennsylvania, on West Buttonwood Street. This new 3-story facility houses an underground nuclear fallout shelter, several offices, and two lounges. The third floor lounge has a bar serving fine wines. The building also has laundry facilities, as well as a full kitchen. No tours are available at this facility.

 

Q: What are TMO Events, and who may attend?

A: The TMO frequently hosts special events, such as trips, picnics, games, movies and other outings. These may include day-trips to St. Louis, Jefferson City or other cities to visit sporting events, museums, and other areas of general interest. The TMO also participates in many outdoor events, such as camping, hiking, and boating. Movies are often shown in the TMO's private theater. Generally, TMO members may invite guests to events, and the public is often welcome to attend. Events will be announced in the TMO Online Newsletter as they are planned. Some events are paid for by the TMO, while others may involve some out-of-pocket expense to members. Events usually include free options for members and guests wishing to attend without paying fees.

 

Q: Who is in charge of the TMO?

A: The TMO is governed by the Council, which consists of the three founding members. See the Members Page for more details.

 

Q: Who is currently in the TMO, and how can I join?

A: The TMO is comprised of people from all different walks of life. Members can range from 16 years old to infinity (See restrictions in the Online Handbook). The TMO is not a religion-based organization, and has members with many different beliefs. We believe that members can learn from each other's differences, and encourage open communication between our members about all areas of life, both physical and spiritual. No member is ever made to feel belittled or uneasy about his or her beliefs. The TMO does not discriminate against race, creed, color, national origin, handicap, sex, sexual orientation or religious practices.
Anyone may apply for membership in the TMO by completing the online membership application. The Council will vote on membership during the next regular monthly meetting. See the TMO Handbook for more information.

Q: Does it cost to become a member?

A: There is no charge to apply for membership. Once approved, you will receive a notice in the mail informing you of your acceptance. Membership dues are assessed on June 1st each year. Dues for the General Membership are $12.50. Membership in the TMO is no-risk. Our organization is not out to make money. If you choose to cancel your membership, any past-due amount owed to the TMO will be dismissed. We do not make any collection efforts against members. If you choose not to continue your membership, simply don't pay your dues. Notifying the TMO of your desire to cancel your membership is not necessary, however, it would be appreciated.
